The 2013 Scarecrow Festival Gala Concert was an evening to remember. The walls of a packed Bothwell Parish Church resonated to a glorious medley of music. Our spectacular rendition of Holy City, led by superb soprano soloist Aileen Marley was a particular hit and even if the skies had been darker earlier in the day, everyone appreciated the Blue Skies swing to their homeward step.
We also enjoyed the opportunity to hear delightful and inspiring performances from local stars – pianist Drew Crichton and Uddingston Grammar’s Young Musician of the Year, Alto Sax player, Catherine Hall. In addition, we were treated to the welcome return of the very versatile tenor Matthew Todd and to the first but hopefully not the last Gala Concert appearance, of the pure lilting quality of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Mezzo Soprano, Robyn Stapleton.
We were very pleased to be able to contribute to the evening’s fundraising for Yorkhill Children’s Charity.
Roll on next year!
