We are delighted that our 2014 Christmas Concert has enabled us to donate £800 to support the work of the Yorkhill Children’s Charity.
The charity has special significant for one of our special guests at the concert, X-factor star Nicholas McDonald, pictured here with two pupils from Craigholme School: Suzanne Murphy, soprano soloist at the concert and Lucy Welsh, a member of the Grace Notes vocal ensemble, who also sang at the concert, together with Anne Laird, our Choir Secretary and Aileen McConnell from the charity.
We are looking forward to our most sparkly rehearsal yet – this year, ahead of our sell-out Christmas Concert the rehearsal will be festooned with Christmas Jumpers.
Choir members will be wearing their Christmas Jumpers, (or for those too posh to have one -Santa hats, tinsel, battery lights, or strings of baubles) and donating a minimum of £2 each to support our favourite charities.
It’s that time of year when it is all to easy to lose ourselves in the whirlwind created by the countdown to Christmas and forget why the season exists. Our annual concert with the Uddingston Rotary Club is a lovely chance to pause and relish the moment, while supporting the valuable work for our community of St Andrew’s Hospice.
We look forward to you joining us for our much beloved pre-Christmas ‘pick me up’:
