The Choir is proud to have as its Honorary President, retired Professor of singing and Vocal Studies at the RSAMD Elizabeth Izatt.
Elizabeth was born and raised in Stonehaven and after a spell as lecturer at Robert Gordon’s University took up her post at the RSAMD.
Herself an accomplished choral conductor, Elizabeth was formerly the conductor of the Glasgow Philharmonic Male Voice Choir and under her direction the Choir organised and ran the Woolwich International Song Competition as part of Glasgow’s City of Culture Celebrations.
The choir is delighted to have such an acclaimed teacher and singer whom they can call on for advice and support. Elizabeth has conducted the choir in a performance of Faure’s Requiem and is a regular audience member at concerts and functions. She has given freely of her time in support of the choir’s education programme especially its Young Voices programme.
