The choir’s new glamorous ladies’ gowns were on show at our 2014 Spring Concert.
The elegantly sparkling gowns must have given us all extra confidence, with many of the audience saying it was the best Spring Concert yet – a fitting end to the 14th choir season and a wonderful prelude to our 15th anniversary season. We are greatly indebted to the expert dressmaker Linda Suart for her patience, attention to detail and the considerable hard work she undertook to make it possible to have the gowns in time.
We were also delighted to enjoy superb performances from our solo guests:
-the rich melodious quality of baritone Luke Scott, who gave his final Scottish performance before leaving to take up his place at The Royal Northern Conservatoire of Music, where he will study for a Masters in Opera and performance.
– the wonderful interweaving notes of Alice Guse, a National MOD Gold Medalist on the Clarsach and pupil at Craigholme School in Glasgow, who has recently been awarded a scholarship to Douglas Academy Music School.
We are looking forward to starting the new season and catching up with choir friends again on 31st August. Whether you are travelling far, or just pottering in the garden or making it a summer to remember by getting married, we look forward to your return in fine voice for our anniversary year. New members are always welcome too, so do tell your friends!
