The Choir really enjoyed being part of a glorious finale to the Bothwell Scarecrow Festival, on Sunday 9th September at 7.30 pm in Bothwell Parish Church and are grateful to the organisers for their invitation.
Superb guest performers included Pianist Drew Crichton, Violinist Duncan Thomson accompanied by pianist David Hamilton, Tenor and harpist Matthew Todd and the ensemble Sorella Brass, who treated the packed Church to a truly memorable occasion with music from the ancient polyphonics of Giovanni Gabrielli to the modern notes of Bernstein and Lloyd Weber.
Similarly journeying through time, our contributions included the 18th century words of Wesley and Burns, balanced by the more modern Rutter, Beck and Paul Mealor’s music for the Military Wives,”Wherever you are”. Geoffrey Tanti excelled again providing superb accompaniment and our own Mark Donnelly’s baritone solos were much appreciated.
The audience certainly seemed to be very glad that they were in Bothwell for this splendid evening. We are sure it will become an annual favourite.
